April Meetup: Ethics Hold ‘Em in Boca
Can you teach journalism ethics through gambling? Hell, yeah! The game is Texas Hold’em, except the faces of the cards have entries from SPJ’s Code of Ethics. Some entries are repeated on different cards. (There are thankfully more cards than rules in the Code.) Find the matches, win 100 chips.Join us at the Irishmen in Boca Raton on April 24 at 7 p.m. and try your hand. Enjoy free food and buy one, get one free drinks all night! New to the game? We have a rookie table where you can craft your poker face. A seasoned vet? Take a seat with your fellow pros at the expert table. Last two at each table face off for prizes and bragging rights as SPJ South Florida’s Ethics Hold’em champions.
