SPJ Florida Presents Free Facebook Training in Orlando
Learn how to use Facebook for good instead of evil.
Facebook has been all over the news. But did you know you can use Facebook to cover your own news?
SPJ and Facebook have teamed up to train journalists around the country on Facebook’s best practices and best-kept secrets. The traveling program stops at The Orlando Sentinel on Thursday, Nov. 1.
The Orlando Sentinel is opening its doors for this program to all local media (working, professional journalists) — and it’s completely free.
Trusting News Project Manager and SPJ past president Lynn Walsh, who spent time in Manhattan being trained by Facebook employees, will lead the talk and answer questions.
“We’ll cover best practices any content creator should know,” Walsh says. “Through this training, you’ll walk away knowing how to best communicate with your audience, including how to use branded graphics while you go LIVE on Facebook.”
The event takes place from 10 a.m.-noon at the Orlando Sentinel, 633 N Orange Avenue, Orlando. Those interested in attending must RSVP by Oct. 25 by emailing cherrera@orlandosentinel.com and mskoneki@orlandosentinel.com.
Parking will be available in the lot facing Colonial Drive.
*Please note: though many SPJ Florida events are open to the general public, this event is intended only for journalists!
