Mike McQueen Honored

The South Florida chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists has announced their new Michael Anthony McQueen scholarship fund.

Julie Kay, president of the local chapter, announced the scholarship on November 7 at a memorial service held at Florida International University.

McQueen, chief of bureau for The Associated Press in Louisiana and Mississippi and former president of SPJ’s South Florida chapter, was remembered for not only his dedication to journalism but for his warm and generous spirit.
