To nominate yourself or others, please send an e-mail including the nominee’s name and resume to Chapter Administrator Tim Dodson, tim@timdodson.com, by Friday, Nov. 5. All nominations will be reviewed by 2011 Nominating Chair Lillian Kopenhaver, Ph.D., professor and dean of the FIU School of Journalism and Mass Communication. As specified by the bylaws, the nominating chair will confirm each candidate’s eligibility to serve and submit an official slate to chapter members by Thursday, Nov. 9 (30 days prior to the election).

In addition to the above nominating process, any eligible chapter member may submit a nomination by providing his/her name and resume to the chapter president at least 14 days in advance of the annual election meeting. Upon verification that the candidate is qualified to hold the seat being sought, the chapter shall publish the names of these candidates and their qualifications by the same method used to publish the official slate.

The chapter’s annual election meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 9 at 7:30 p.m. Maguires Hill 16, a traditional Irish pub and restaurant near downtown Fort Lauderdale. Election shall be by simple majority vote of eligible chapter members, cast by ballot either in person and/or through electronic means and/or through absentee ballots. A chapter mixer follows the election.

If your membership has lapsed, or will end before the annual election, renew online.
