South Florida Black Journalists Scholarship and Awards Event
MIAMI GARDENS-There’s still time to RSVP for the South Florida Black Journalists Association’s annual awards and scholarship reception. This signature event is set for 3 to 6 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 13 at Florida Memorial University’s Lou Rawls Center for the Performing Arts. Neki Mohan, reporter/anchor at WPLG Channel 10, will be mistress of ceremonies for the event.
Tickets are reasonably priced at $35 for non-members, $25 for members and $15 for students who show their student identification. Just RSVP to sfbja@hotmail.com by Sept. 13 and pay at the door.
Florida Memorial University is located in Miami Gardens just off the Palmetto Expressway/FL-826 exit at NW 37th Avenue/Douglas Road. So come out and mingle with journalists and other business leaders as we recognize the best media coverage in South Florida’s black community.
What: SFBJA Annual Awards and Scholarship Reception (hors d’oeuvres & beverages, steel band music, guest speakers, silent auction, goodie bags)

Why: To acknowledge the best in media coverage of South Florida’s black community and to award scholarships to tomorrow’s journalists
Tickets: $25 member; $35 non-member; $15 Students, w/ID
