Sunshine State Awards Update
Big changes are in store for the 2011 Sunshine State Awards competition. We are moving the entire entry submission process online — no more hard-copy entries! This change will eliminate shipping charges for entrants as well as enable us to streamline and simplify the judging process. As an added benefit, we envision being able to host all of the winning entries in an online gallery, increasing recognition opportunities for award recipients throughout 2011.
Our preparation for this major change has delayed issuance of our Call for Entries, which we usually distribute in early January. We now anticipate being ready to accept entries in early February. As always, we will allow at least one month for receipt of submissions. We recommend that you use this extra lead time to digitize your entries so you’ll be ready to submit when the time comes.
PLEASE NOTE THIS IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
Allowable file types for print submissions are: PDF, TXT, DOC, JPG, PNG, and GIF.
For web, video, or audio entries you must provide a URL to a location where your entry content is hosted (either on your organization’s website or on a free site such as YouTube, Vimeo, Picasa, Issuu, etc.).
Further instructions will follow soon.
We’re excited about this change, which will enable us to run the contest more efficiently and keep entry prices reasonable. Stay tuned!
