Florida First Amendment Foundation takes 2019 Sunshine Seminars across the state

SPJ Florida is proud to once again partner with the Florida First Amendment Foundation and the League of Women Voters in presenting the Foundation’s annual Sunshine Seminars.

The Foundation travels the sunshine state educating journalists, government officials, advocates of the First Amendment, and the general public with a half-day seminar.

“Seminars like this are critical for journalists and we’re proud to be partnering with The First Amendment Foundation again,” SPJ Florida President Emily Bloch said. “With the 2020 elections around the corner, it’s especially important for the public to learn about the First Amendment and Sunshine Laws.”

Stopping in six cities–Tallahassee, Daytona Beach, Sarasota, Fort Myers, Deerfield Beach, and Fort Walton Beach–the Foundation will be discussing open government, the First Amendment, media law, an overview of the Sunshine Laws, and a legislative update.

Tickets are $10 for students, $20 for foundation members, $25 for host organization members, and $35 for non-members. For CLE credit, cost is $50 and CE credit is an additional $10.

As a member of SPJ Florida, you can get your tickets at the host organization price! For more information about the seminars, call 850-224-4555 or email info@floridafaf.org.
